I worked as an elementary teacher until I had my son. Now I work from home taking calls for a doctors office. Baby and I wake around 7 or 8 am. I begin my shift at 1pm. Baby naps from 1 until 3. I take my brake at 3 to change his diaper and give a bottle. He listens to music or watches baby sign language videos for an hour until Dad comes home at 4. My goal is to start an in home daycare but this is the best I can do for now.

Too bad that this video has been viewed so seldom. The information is good and, even in 2023, up to date. Not that many women want to make it to the really high positions (4%) but I wonder if they've run into walls at lower levels and decided that it's not worth the effort. In the end, It's a completely different "game" that women can learn. Most women don't know about the rules.

Georgetown! What is UP? How are you guys sitting on these narrative goldmines, hidden in plain site? Viral content waiting to happen. I guess it's the specificity of your audience, but hey. Thanks for uploading publicly. I came across your channel by accident after searching for life coach Talane Miedaner. And gotta admit, if the thumbnails and talk titles weren't so freaking compelling, the opener might have been jarring enough to put me off. The school song sung by a male choir⅘ bit ... out of step with the actual content but ... I'm sorry, is it me or is Madame Ghandi light weight flirting with the interviewer? Ha!! Badass, love it.

Anti racist leadership would be hiring the best regardless of race or gender. If there were 10 job openings and the 10 best were all straight white men then that's who should be hired. I'm not being sexist or racist. If the 10 best were all blacks gays or trans then that's who should be hired. They shouldnt hire some of them just because though. That's being sexist and racist to white men. I see it as the left is racist and sexist. They are intolerant of straights too.

I am not sure you can be happy with the hours you worked on your turn around; sometimes you have to give up part of life to get the desired result. Glad to hear Georgetown community was helpful to you. From a fellow hoya.

Time management, conferences, getting involved in professional organizations, workshops ..great advice from Mr. Flagg........in listening to this interview, I had another thought.......to me networking is about schmoozing/socializing going to networking events.......I think one needs to be careful about much of networking......it is better to be involved in professional organizations and leverage those bona fide working relationships as Mr. Flagg commented;........ some networking relationships that are only based on networking can be very superficial and often those people want to network with you and those relationships are not always mutually beneficial or even healthy. Friends he met in school at Columbia is a good idea. Those can be bona fide relationships. It might be semantics, however I would say there are two types of networking.....those that are healthy and those that are superficial. His parting comments are not a way to success for many......ie. work life balance. For many people in many fields, work/life balance is a myth and those people who try to have work/life balance can end up with neither and fall by the way side and you never hear from them again. I was surprised to hear Gerverus recommend work/life balance.....he was an athlete and a student a Georgetown...so he was busy all the time, like having two or more full time jobs.

I am not pleased about the remarks of the moderator's son being in the theologian's class who is on this webinar or the professor's comment about it either. I think that is somehow unprofessional and in my view irrelevant to bring it up. This is a webinar for the public. What is appropriate and what was said, is the importance of the course, and the centrality of the course to Georgetown's values. I am ok with the moderator saying the she enjoyed the course as did her children.

My thoughts and opinions on this video: Sounds like she went to work for AOL, which is not really being an entrepreneur unless she had to put up a lot of financial capital, take a second mortgage out on her home, etc which is unlikely. The context of the discussion seemed to be become an entrepreneur. Something does not add up here, at least in the discussion. I do not know how she had time to be black belt, be a good parent/spouse, and an entrepreneur. Maybe by her early 40s, she and her husband had leisure time due to their success. I can't help but wonder how much luck was involved in her career rather than the five principles. By that I mean, being a successful entrepreneur involves sacrifice in which you do not have time for martial arts or even adequate sleep and sometimes not even having children. I am so happy Jean deeply feels the Georgetown culture and values 38:00. Agree about the deep impact of Jesuit education....you've been touched by a special experience. Agree that future generations are inspiring...the stereotype of negative ideas about young people may well be unfair and untrue. She said she doesn't like flossing and it hurts????her teeth are beautiful, and flossing teeth doesn't hurt. Jean Case can handle herself well in this Q&A and her education, experience, and abilities are well displayed, though the person doing the interviewing seemed indulging. Her departing words were inspiring. I think a different format would have been better, e.g. C-SPAN, Q&A program, by a more neutral and probing interviewer who may have challenged some of her answers.........I hope they invite her to be interviewed on Q&A, especially when COVID is over so that it can be a face to face interview.
